With the altitude came a strong wind tunnel effect that the MHE-Demag team used its engineering expertise to overcome.

Resorts World Group, the holding company of Genting Highlands, which is a popular tourist hotspot in Malaysia, has enlisted the help of MHE-Demag to maintain the façade cleanliness of its recently-refurbished Maxims Hotel.

Since winning the contract in November 2015, MHE-Demag has supplied a ROSTEK monorail track of 893 metres complete with two units of Chameleon 1, which the customer intends to use at least thrice a year to ensure that hotel guests continue to enjoy unblocked, breathtaking views.

With Genting Highlands perched on the peak of the Titiwangsa Mountain range, altitude was a challenge. The strong wind tunnel effect through the neighbouring buildings caused the monorail track to vibrate but this was promptly resolved with the team’s engineering expertise. In just 10 months, the entire project was completed.

At the same time, MHE-Demag was tasked to supply 19 units of MHE Blue Giant docking equipment for the loading bay area. Supplying solutions at 6,000 feet above sea level has been a major breakthrough and achievement for MHE-Demag.
