JJ-Lurgi Engineering Presents 3-MCPD Paper at 100 Years Palm Oil Industry Seminar

Fredrik Pomrehn, Director of Technology at JJ-Lurgi Engineering, recently spoke at the 100 Years Palm Oil Industry Seminar held at InterContinental Hotel Kuala Lumpur. His paper entitled ‘Ready for 3-MCPD Challenges? The Palm Oil Refining of the Future’, addressed the growing responsibility of oil refiners in producing edible oils low in 3-MPCD and glycidyl esters (GE). 
 
Touching on current technologies and approaches available to mitigate the occurrence of process contaminants, Pomrehn highlighted JJ-Lurgi Engineering’s research and development efforts grounded in 100 years of oil refining expertise.  
 
As one of the industry’s key technology providers with a long history of innovation, JJ-Lurgi Engineering is in a unique position to identify and advance breakthroughs in process contaminant mitigation. The company continues to enable palm oil players to meet today’s 3-MCPD and GE challenges in collaboration with the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).
 
The 100 Years Palm Oil Industry Seminar themed ’50 Years of Process Engineering’ was organized by IChemE, an international professional engineering institution with members in over 120 countries dedicated to the advancement of chemical engineering. The key topics presented in this one-day seminar attended by key industry players were mainly focused on palm oil milling, refinery, oleochemical and bioprocessing sectors.
