40 Years and Counting
Thursday, October 27, 2016
The year 2016 is a special one for MHE-Demag Indonesia (MDI), as it commemorates 40 years of serving the Indonesian market.
Back in 1976, MDI established its first office and production facility in Surabaya with a humble team of four employees. Now, four decades later, MDI has grown to become a recognised and respected manufacturing and engineering company. It has more than 400 employees and its products can be found at prominent landmarks across the nation, and across a wide range of industries.
A Day of Celebration
To celebrate this important milestone, MDI invited all employees from the Surabaya office to its 40th anniversary dinner at JW Marriott Hotel on May 27, 2016. The occasion also marked the annual MDI Staff Day and four MDI employees who achieved 25 years of service were duly honoured during the dinner.
The event was graced by Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) Chairman Heinrich Jessen, Executive Board Member Per Magnusson, MHE-Demag Regional Managing Director Karl Tilkorn and Regional Director Joergen Moeller. They were joined by former MDI President Directors Hendra Budi Mulia and Darmawan Sidharta as well as the Jebsen & Jessen Indonesia management team comprising Radju Munusamy, Michael Nielsen, Soenke Gloede and Linda Anthonius.
Reflecting on the occasion, Chau Peng Tai, President Director of MDI said: “This celebration marks 40 years of existence and continued prosperity as a result of the hard work and sacrifice of our employees. Our people understand and strive to attain our goal to be the leading material handling solutions provider in Indonesia. We are especially grateful to those whose careers at MDI span over 25 years. The event was meaningful and memorable with active participation from our employees and the generous support of Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) and MHE-Demag in the region.”
A Tour of Today’s Success
Just a day before, a delegation of media representatives were invited for a guided tour of the MDI Surabaya facility. The tour, which showcased MDI’s strength in the material handling industry, was well attended by national media outlets including Bisnis Indonesia, Kontan Newspaper, Tambang Magazine and Sawit Indonesia Magazine.
