14 Volunteers Work Together at Marshland and Animal Care Centre

The Group's annual CSR project Meet a Green Need brought together 14 volunteers from across ASEAN for a week of hands-on volunteering.
For the first time, the Group partnered two charities: ACRES and Nature Society (Singapore). Over two and a half days, the team worked together at ACRES to build a drainage system for its education centre and helped out at the animal care centre. They then spent two days clearing more than two tonnes of weeds at the Kranji marshland, a project under the care of Singapore's Nature Society (Singapore). The Executive Board joined the volunteers for a day, helping with the work and taking them on a tour of our Group HQ.
"We've never had a group of volunteers who worked so enthusiastically and cleared up so many weeds in two days. This is impressive and we're really happy with the results." shared Kerry Pereira and Dr Ho from Nature Society (Singapore).

What it means to me

Meet a Need is an experience of a lifetime, changing the way staff think and feel about their community and their fellow colleagues. We asked participants to share their most memorable moments; the people they met, what they learned, how the trip changed them and what it was like to work for a greater good.  Read more
