Outside work I enjoy: spending time with my beautiful wife and my two handsome sons. I also enjoy surfing the net for the latest technologies, trying out new software and running.
What do you do and what do you enjoy most about your job?
I take care of supervisory tasks for two teams who work on implementation and post implementation support. I make sure they can meet their goals technically and meet our client's needs. I coordinate with the other in-country divisions and liaise with my regional counterparts.
I enjoy being part of a team who provide a solution to a specific requirement, or problem. Especially when we hear feedback from our customers that we have not only provided what was needed but also given them a solution that shows that we are the best for the job.
What is your experience of Jebsen & Jessen as an employer?
Working for Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) has been a wonderful experience so far. I enjoy the camaraderie between my officemates and me. Over the years, these people have become close friends. The company has given me the opportunity to enhance my technical skills and share this knowledge with a team by giving me the opportunity to lead people.
A fully regionalised company, with global connections, means we can have best practices across all business units, and, when required, use the ‘flex’ factor to adjust to the local requirements too.
What did you learn and how did you develop since you joined the company?
I have learned that there is always room for improvement, and that you can always develop and grow. In my case, over eight years I progressed from engineer to senior engineer to team leader and finally to manager.
Where do see yourself in five years from now?
I have always prided myself in looking for new challenges and meeting or exceeding what is expected of me. Five years from now I see myself in the position that would prepare me for running a local business unit as my subsequent assignment.
