Our Executive Board, the highest level of executive management for our Group, sets the strategic framework to the regional managing directors, who spearhead each regional business and assume direct responsibility for performance as well as operational quality and effectiveness.
The Board of Directors, comprising a total of eight internal and external members, convenes quarterly to provide strategic input on the overall Group development. Separate joint venture boards oversee our three regional joint ventures
JJ-Lapp Cable,
JJ-Lurgi and
MHE-Demag.
Member companies within our Group are guided in their daily operations by the
corporate philosophy, which sets standards for corporate behaviour, performance and management style. In addition, our
corporate compliance guidelines form a firm framework for day-to-day business operations.
Executive Board
Heinrich Jessen, Chairman
Mr Jessen is chairman of Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) and a member of the Executive Board. Based in Singapore, he assumed the role in January 2004. As chairman, Mr Jessen is responsible for the Group’s operations and strategic direction. In addition, he oversees four out of eight operational business units. Under his stewardship, the Group put an extensive growth strategy into effect in 2010. It has since seized numerous acquisition opportunities and expanded its regional footprint within ASEAN.
Fritz Graf von der Schulenburg, Executive Vice Chairman
Mr Schulenburg is the executive vice chairman of Jebsen and Jessen (SEA) and a member of the Executive Board. Based in Singapore, he joined Jebsen & Jessen in March 2010 and is responsible for four out of eight operational business units. Additionally, he focuses on external partner relations with the strategic intention of leveraging Jebsen & Jessen’s (SEA) unique value proposition in ASEAN with new technology partners.
Alex Chan, Executive Vice Chairman
Mr Chan is executive vice chairman of Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) and a member of the Executive Board. Based in Singapore, he assumed the role in November 2011. As executive vice chairman, Mr Chan has overall responsibility for the group's business infrastructure, productivity drive, resource utilisation and overall risk management.

Regional Managing Directors
Our eight businesses conducted across the region operate autonomously, unified by our corporate values and philosophy. Interwoven networks, integrated IT platforms, effective branding and proven leadership styles make all the difference in the face of competition.
Mr Chui is the regional managing director of Jebsen & Jessen Packaging and has more than 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing packaging solutions. He is in charge of managing operations across South East Asia, overseeing more than 600 people. Mr Chui has successfully completed a number of mergers and acquisitions for the Regional Business Unit such as Broadway in 2002 and Labplas Sdn Bhd 2011. ►

Mr Hansen has been regional managing director of Jebsen & Jessen Marketing since 1996 and regional managing director for Jebsen & Jessen Technology since 2011. Based in Bangkok, he is responsible for the operations of both Regional Business Units overseeing over 400 people. Mr Hansen is a veteran leader in our Group with a wealth of management experience. Having joined in 1980, he has assumed managerial responsibilities in a number of our regional activities over the past decades.►

J. Peter Jessen is the regional managing director of JJ-Lapp Cable, as well as partner and board director for the Group. Based in Singapore, Mr Jessen is responsible for JJ-Lapp Cable's operations across South East Asia. Under J. Peter Jessen’s leadership, the Regional Business Unit has recently acquired a cable manufacturing business in Indonesia. Through this strategic investment, the company's activities moved upstream from distribution to include cable manufacturing. ►

Per Anders Magnusson
MHE-Demag
Mr Magnusson is the managing director of MHE-Demag. He joined the company in 2008. Based in Shah Alam, Malaysia, Mr Magnusson oversees operations across the region and more than 1,100 staff. Under his leadership, the company has implemented an ambitious growth plan and recently expanded its regional footprint to Taiwan through a strategic acquisition of a Taiwanese materials handling company. ►

Mr Schmidt is the regional managing director of Jebsen & Jessen Chemicals. Responsible for operations across six countries and overseeing 200 people, Mr Schmidt is based in the unit’s headquarters in Bangkok, Thailand. He first joined the Group in 2005, as managing director and board member of JJ-Degussa Chemicals, a previous venture between Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) and Degussa. In 2009, he was appointed to his current position. ►

Mr Thng has been regional managing director of Jebsen & Jessen Communications since 1997. He joined the Group in 1988, leading a small team and tasked to build the communications business into a strategic asset. Today, the Communications Regional Business Unit employees close to 300 people and has established operations in six countries. Mr Thng focuses his time on ensuring the business stays relevant in the various markets, looking at growth opportunities and using the increase of customer satisfaction as a focal point for managing the business.
