Securely packaged medication ready to be delivered to Thai FDA.
Jebsen & Jessen Ingredients in Thailand has beaten three competitors to win 1,000kg of Codeine Phosphate, an active pharmaceutical ingredient, in the Thai Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) first electronic bidding exercise. The exercise was held in 2016.
The victory underscores the Ingredients team’s strength in developing a compelling online pharmaceutical bid in Thailand. “As it was our first time bidding electronically, we were driven to develop an offer that clearly showcased our capabilities and how these were best able to meet FDA’s unique needs,” shared Phankom Ngamsaneh, Sales Manager – Pharmaceuticals.
The first delivery of 500kg was completed in March 2017, with the next 500kg batch scheduled to be delivered in March 2018.
Codeine is an opioid pain medication that is used to treat mild to moderately severe pain. It also can relieve coughs. As the drug has a high potential for abuse, only the Thai FDA can purchase and distribute it to pharmaceutical manufacturers.
