Exiting the Healthcare Business

He will be heading the new Getz Healthcare operations in Malaysia as Managing Director. In Thailand, the division will be integrated with Getz’s existing distribution company Louis T. Leonowens (Thailand) on November 1, 2015.
Getz Healthcare is part of the Getz Group, a US$1bn family business headquartered in Singapore.
The signing ceremony took place on Sept 7, 2015. Heinrich Jessen, Chairman of Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) and James Simkins, CEO of Getz Healthcare, with members of the Executive Board and senior management team as well as the management team of Getz Group.
Speaking of the divestments, Heinrich Jessen, Chairman of Jebsen & Jessen (SEA) said: “The decisions took a lot of deliberation. We are convinced that, in its new home at Dimension Data, Communications will have access to an even more extensive technology portfolio and will be able to address a wider customer segment with a significantly enhanced solution portfolio. For Healthcare, we believe that the business needs to grow significantly to secure a sustainable long-term future and that Getz Healthcare provides the ideal home for such growth. Jebsen & Jessen’s strategic direction will continue to prioritise activities in which we play a more direct role in designing, manufacturing and/or servicing the products we sell and, for pure distribution activities, have market leadership and independence from any single product supply.”
